1) I think my schedule is the biggest thing that will affect my participation or experience in this class. This is my first time having a full schedule so this is a completely new experience in my academic career. I have never been so busy in any of my school years but I think this is also because I always took the fact that I grasped new concepts easily to my advantage and never really worked too hard to achieve all perfect grades. But I like how I'm able to challenge myself through taking seven classes and five of them being AP or honors.
2) One of the best learning experience was in my junior year in AP Chemistry with Mr. Rucker during an actual representation of a topic that we were discussing. When we were reading a section from the book, Mr. Rucker actually demonstrated an experiment that resembled with the topic. I learned that rather than reading the section just like any other text book, the visual representation helped me understand the topic more deeply and thoroughly. Many of my AVID classmates were there but what made the experience even more memorable was knowing every individual and having a certain comfort level with them (since there were only fifteen people in my class). The intense and involving discussion with Mr. Rucker and the former students allowed me to understand as to what was happening in the experiment and in the chapter of the book.
3) I am most excited as to what Open Source Learning has to offer to make my senior year English class the most memorable and the most successful. I look forward to learn to be a better writer, writing with high vocabulary and complex sentence structure. I would also love to learn to read better critically and be able to analyze the text given without much difficulty. It has already started making a practical difference in my life because it has made me a more responsible, dedicated, and determined individual who is not not afraid to face the challenges presented to me anymore.
